Calgary Hitmen
Hesse brings major-junior familiarity and a movement base a staff can work with. He fits consideration by a club willing to assess why a recurring role produced uneven stopping outcomes and whether targeted work can make the mobility more dependable.
His ability to move as the puck changes sides is the positive starting point. The recruitment evaluation must follow that movement through contact, because reaching the shot matters less if the resulting puck leaves him exposed to another attempt.
The rank recognizes actual major-junior responsibility without treating participation as proof of complete readiness. His experience is relevant, but greater consistency is necessary to strengthen the case for increased starts.
The most useful development target is a balanced finish to lateral movement. A staff should test whether he can arrive under control, choose the save and recover without allowing one difficult adjustment to disrupt the whole possession.
His 2025–26 record with Calgary Hitmen lists 30 appearances, with a 3.57 goals-against average and a .867 save percentage.
